Dallas strengthens its defensive line

Round 1 (11) – Inspector Kenneth Grant, Michigan: While Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty might seem like an obvious choice—and he was available at PFF Draft Simulator With this pick, the Cowboys’ need for the interior defensive line is perhaps even more pressing.

Round 3 (75) – RB TreVion Henderson, Ohio State: The Cowboys need fresh talent at running back, and it would be smart to target a few top prospects in the draft to rejuvenate the position. Henderson has earned a PFF grade above 85.0 in each of the last two seasons and has 155 missed tackles on 524 career carries.

The 2024 season was disappointing for the team. Dallas Cowboyswho are currently positioned as candidates close to the top 10 in the ranking 2025 NFL Draft.

However, numerous roster weaknesses revealed throughout the season mean the team will have to address several key issues to quickly return to contention.

Here’s our take on what the Cowboys should do with the 11th overall pick if they end up in this draft spot.

Round 1 (11): Inspector Kenneth Grant, Michigan

While Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty might seem like an obvious choice—and he was available at PFF Draft Simulator With this pick, the Cowboys’ need for the interior defensive line is perhaps even more pressing. If Michigan specialist Chris Grant is still available when Dallas is on the clock, they shouldn’t hesitate to make the pick.

Grant has been one of college football’s best defensive tackles this season, posting an impressive 85.3 PFF defensive grade and making 18 defensive stops. Cowboys fans may be wary of drafting another interior lineman from Michigan after Mazie Smith’s recent struggles, but Grant’s skill set and production make him the right choice to bolster Dallas’ defensive front.

Round 2 (43): TJ Dontay Corleone, Cincinnati

One of my favorite draft strategies is to double up at a position of need because it increases the likelihood of a successful player landing where the team needs help most. Adding someone like Dontay Corleone would fit this approach perfectly. Corleone has consistently performed at a high level, earning a PFF grade above 80.0 for three straight seasons. Not only has he been a force against the run, but he has also shown impressive ability as a pass rusher, making him an ideal addition to bolster the interior of the defensive line.

Round 3 (75): HB TreVion Henderson, Ohio State

The Cowboys need fresh talent at running back, and it would be smart to target a few top prospects in the draft to rejuvenate the position. TreVeyon Henderson would be a great option, providing proven stability and explosiveness. Henderson has earned a PFF grade above 85.0 in each of the last two seasons and has 155 missed tackles on 524 career carries.
