The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to cancel the warm-up match against India A ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has attracted a lot of criticism. Considering the poor form that many Indian cricketers showed late, the Indian team has reportedly decided to schedule a three-day intra-squad practice match. However, the board wants to hold the match behind closed doors, with no public viewing possible. However, the BCCI wants all matters to remain internal until the start of the series.

The intra-squad warm-up match at the WACA will take place from Friday to Sunday. Once the warm-up game was scheduled, the BCCI ensured that public viewing would not be possible as the match would be played under lockdown conditions, The Western Australian reported.

A group of Indian players who arrived in Australia a few days ago have already started training. Virat Kohli was one of the first to land Down Under, but he missed the first training session on Tuesday. Jasprit Bumrah And Ravichandran Ashwin also missed an “optional” session.
