In an unfortunate development in Pune, a 35-year-old cricketer died of cardiac arrest during a cricket match at the city’s Garware Stadium on Thursday. A player named Imran Patel came to bat as an opener, but after spending some time on the pitch, he started complaining of pain in his chest and arm. He reported the matter to the on-field umpire and was given permission to leave the field. However, on the way back to the pavilion, Imran collapsed.
The entire incident was caught on camera while the match was livestreamed. As Imran fell, other players on the field rushed towards him. He was immediately taken to the hospital. However, doctors confirmed that Imran was dead.
What surprised many was the fact that Imran was in excellent health. Although he was physically healthy, he went into cardiac arrest. An all-rounder, Imran was the type of player who had to be active throughout the match. Therefore, the reason behind his death left many stunned.

Imran had a wife and three daughters, the youngest of whom is only four months old. Patel was a well-known figure in the area, owning a cricket team and running a real estate business.
