In his first ODI against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium on Thursday, Indian left-handed spinner Ravindra Jadeja completed 600 international wickets in all formats. Jadeja snapped three wickets into the 9-over spell, admitting only 26 runs and bowling one maiden over. The 36-year-old put the wickets of Joe Root, Jacob Bethel and Adil Rashid on his spell. With these three wickets, the Saurashtra-born player completed the 600 wicket mark and became the fifth player. Other players achieving the same landmark were leg spinner Anil Kumble, offspinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Habjan Singh and all-around Kapil Dev.

During the batting, Jadeja played unbeaten innings of 12 runs from 10 balls.

Nagpur ODI’s first innings were repeated once more, England won a toss and was selected to hit first.

Openers Phil Salt (43 of 26 balls, 4 and 3 sixes) and Ben Duckett (32 of 29 balls, 6 balls) made great starts with an explosive 75-run opening stand. After England met 111/4, skipper Jos Butler (52 on 67 balls, 4 on 4, 4 on 67 balls) (Boundary) and Jacob Bethel had 59 stands.

After Butler was fired, Bethel reached half a century, scoring 51 with 64 balls and scoring with three fours and six balls. Jofra Archer cameo (21* with 18 balls, 3 fours, six balls) brought England to 248 with 47.4 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja (3/26) and Harshit Rana (3/53) were India’s top wicket takers. Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav each got their ticket gates.
