Cricketer on camera dies of cardiac arrest at stadium while playing in Pune

In a sad development in Pune, a 35-year-old cricketer died of cardiac arrest while playing cricket at the Gharwar Stadium in the city on Thursday. A player named Imran Patel entered the field first and began complaining of pain in his chest and arms after spending some time on the field. He informed the on-field officials of the problem and was allowed to leave the field. However, returning to the pavilion, Imran lost consciousness.

The entire incident was caught on camera during the live broadcast of the match. As Imran fell, other players on the field rushed to his side. He was immediately taken to the hospital. However, according to the doctors, Imran was pronounced dead.

What surprised many was the fact that Imran was in exceptionally good health. He was physically healthy, but suffered cardiac arrest. Being an all-rounder, Imran was the type of player who had to be active throughout the match. Therefore, the cause of his death stunned many.

“He had no history of any illness,” said Nasir Khan, another cricketer in the match. Times of India “He was in good physical shape. In fact, he was an all-rounder who loved the game. We are all still in shock.”

Imran had a wife and three daughters, the youngest of whom was only four months old. Patel was a well-known figure in the area, owning a cricket team and even being involved in real estate. He also ran a juice store. In September this year, another cricketer named Habib Sheikh also died in a similar manner during a match in Pune. However, Habib had an underlying condition as he was a diabetic, unlike Imran who was said to be in a healthier condition.
