In a sad development in Pune, a 35-year-old cricketer died of cardiac arrest while playing cricket at the Gharwar Stadium in the city on Thursday. A player named Imran Patel entered the field first and began complaining of pain in his chest and arms after spending some time on the field. He informed the on-field officials of the problem and was allowed to leave the field. However, returning to the pavilion, Imran lost consciousness.
The entire incident was caught on camera during the live broadcast of the match. As Imran fell, other players on the field rushed to his side. He was immediately taken to the hospital. However, according to the doctors, Imran was pronounced dead.
What surprised many was the fact that Imran was in exceptionally good health. He was physically healthy, but suffered cardiac arrest. Being an all-rounder, Imran was the type of player who had to be active throughout the match. Therefore, the cause of his death stunned many.
