Dallas Cowboys 27, New York Giants 20

Dallas Cowboys won New York Giants 27-20 at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day.

Micah ParsonsClearly, the Cowboys’ presence was huge for a team that had struggled for much of the year, as the Cowboys’ defense was excellent for most of the contest, forcing two turnovers while holding the Giants to just 10 points through the first three quarters.

In games without Parsons, the Cowboys defense allowed 0.158 EPA; however, in games with the three-time All-Pro, Dallas dropped that to just 0.024 EPA per game. This is especially noticeable in the pass rush department, as the Cowboys posted a 44.2% pass rush win percentage, 32% pass rush rate, and 24.4 pass rush efficiency in games without Parsons while recording a 46 pass rush win. .4%. speed, 38.2% pressure rate and 30.3 passing efficiency.

Parsons recorded another two-sack day on Thanksgiving Day, but he wasn’t the only Cowboys defensive back to excel against a division rival. DeMarvion (four complete stops, interception, fumble recovery) I was also impressed, especially when he gave a tip Drew Lock threw an interception pass to himself that he returned for a touchdown while the game was still close. Besides, Eric Kendricks (two stops, a bag and forced to fumble), Jourdan Lewis (two stops while allowing only two receptions from four targets for zero yards) and, in particular, Know Smith (one stop, consistently changing the line of scrimmage and giving the Cowboys linebackers room to make plays) put together outstanding performances to cap off an impressive day for the Cowboys defense.

Coming off a torn ACL, DeMarvion was one of the few bright spots for a Cowboys defense that had struggled most of the year. The Dallas defense was really able to put together a good game on Thanksgiving Day, and Overshown was one of the main reasons for that.

Not only was his pick-six impressive, as it proved to be the deciding factor in Dallas’ seven-point win, but Overshown was constantly flying around the field, making his presence felt on both the run and pass. In total, Overshown made four pit stops for the team, as well as his own six and a recovery from a setback. Against the run in particular, Overshown finished with an average tackle depth of 2.67 yards, demonstrating his ability to shut down New York’s rushing attack throughout Thursday’s contest.
