Defender
Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears (Included in 44.0% of leagues on ESPN)
Bears Continue to fall behind in games, which leads to Williams missing a lot in the second halves and scoring a lot of fantasy points. He completed 26 of 40 passes in Week 16 for 334 yards and two touchdowns while adding 34 yards on six carries. Williams had a string of games without a touchdown in late October and November, but he scored at least two times in four of his last five games. He also ran the ball at least four times down the stretch.
The Bears will play a home game against the team Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football in Week 17. Seahawks just allowed Sam Darnold score three touchdowns, and while they did a great job with the quarterbacks early in the season, they have given up at least 200 yards and two touchdowns in nine of their last 12 games. Williams could be a great defender this week.
The only problem is that most fantasy managers looking for a defender this week are probably worried about Jalen Hurts. Eagles Play on Sunday, so we may not know Hurts’ status in time to make a decision on Williams. However, Williams could be a better alternative to a borderline fantasy starter in a bad matchup.
