When Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-0 in El Clasico on Saturday, the reverberations of their convincing victory were heard around the world. There is hardly a football match in the world that can match the excitement generated by the battle between Barcelona and Real Madrid, be it La Liga or the Champions League. As stated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez held a roadshow in Vadodara in Gujarat and there was even talk of football buzzing around the city.
Citing the example of Barcelona’s victory over Real Madrid in La Liga, Prime Minister Modi highlighted how passionately the match was discussed in India, perhaps as intensely as it was in Spain.
“Spanish football is very popular in India. Yesterday there was a match between Real Madrid and Barcelona and discussions took place in India as well. Barcelona’s brilliant victory was the subject of discussion here too. I can also tell you that there was as much banter between the fans of the two clubs in India as there would have been in Spain,” PM Modi said during his speech at the event.

As for the roadshow, both prime ministers waved to the crowds gathered along the 2.5-km stretch from the airport to the Tata Aviation Complex in the city that they will inaugurate.
Modi and Sanchez were greeted by performances from various artists showcasing India’s rich culture as they made their way to the Tata Advanced Systems plant.
The two leaders jointly inaugurated the Tata Advanced Systems facility and then headed to the historic Lakshmi Vilas Palace for a bilateral meeting.
Tata Advanced Systems’ C-295 aircraft manufacturing complex is India’s first private final assembly line for military aircraft.
As part of the agreement, up to 40 aircraft will be built at the Vadodara plant, while aviation giant Airbus will directly supply 16 aircraft.
Tata Advanced Systems is responsible for manufacturing these 40 aircraft in India and the facility will be the first private final assembly line (FAL) for military aircraft in India.
It will include the full development of the entire ecosystem, from production to assembly, testing and qualification, to delivery and full lifecycle support of the aircraft.
Apart from the Tatas, leading public sector defense units such as Bharat Electronics and Bharat Dynamics as well as private micro, small and medium enterprises will participate in this program.
