Despite Joe Burrow playing at MVP level, Cincinnati Bengals It looks like they’ll miss the playoffs again in 2024.
They have big needs, especially on defense, so a high draft pick would at least give them the opportunity to add some top-notch talent on that side of the ball.
Here’s how we’d draft the Bengals if the NFL Draft were held today.
Round 1 (12): OT Josh Simmons, Ohio State
Simmons had earned a career-high 86.7 PFF pass-blocking grade before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 7, as he allowed just two pressures among 158 pass-blocking grades in the first six games of the season. He started at both positions in college, which adds some versatility to him as a prospect.
Round 2 (43): CB Darien Porter, Iowa State
This season, Porter posted an elite PFF coverage grade of 90.5 while allowing just four receptions in 160 coverage snaps. At 6’4 he is a tremendous athlete for his size and could be a great pick on day two.
Round 3 (98): S Billy Bowman Jr., Oklahoma
Bowman has earned a PFF grade above 70.0 in each of the last three seasons, playing 600 or more snaps in all of those years. He has 11 interceptions and 50 defensive stops over the last three seasons.
Round 3 (99): Inspector Darrell Jackson Jr., Florida
Jackson has been an excellent pass rusher for Florida State this season, posting a 72.9 pass-rushing grade and 24 total pressures, including four sacks and two quarterback hits, in 214 pass-rushing snaps.
