The Indian women’s cricket team defeated the newly crowned Women’s T20 Cricket World Champions New Zealand by 59 runs. One of the standout moments during India’s bowling performance was a smart run delivered by the Indian spinner with brilliant presence of mind. Deepti Sharma. As captain of New Zealand Sophie Devine came out to block Deepti’s delivery, the bowler spotted the chance. With Devine still out of range and oblivious to the situation, Deepti threw the ball back to the wicketkeeper. Yastika Bhatia which knocked out the bails before Devine could return to her crease.
Divine even ducked to the side to avoid Deepti’s kick back at Yastica. Moments later, however, Divine realized her mistake: Yastica revoked her bail and India appealed.
