Pace bowler Harshit Rana According to reports, India will be released for the team’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match for Delhi. Harshit Rana was initially a reserve player for the Indian Test team that hosted New Zealand in a three-match series. Harshit Rana will reportedly be allowed to leave the national team to help Delhi in the Ranji Trophy game against Assam. Due to unavailability Navdeep SainiThe Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) has sought Harshit’s services.

Saini was included in the India A squad touring Australia due to which he could not play in the next Ranji match in Delhi. Since Harshit Rana will not play in the second Test against New Zealand, he will be allowed to represent Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, reports Times of India. Delhi will take on Assam at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, October 26.

Harshit joins Nitish Kumar Reddy as a traveling reserve released by India to play for their Ranji team. Reddy was released to play for Andhra against Gujarat. Harshit has previously played nine first-class matches, taking 36 wickets. He even scored a century with the bat.

Harshit has been a regular part of the Indian set-up in all three formats since his arrival Gautam Gambhir as a head coach who was also his mentor at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during IPL 2024. However, he is set to make his debut in any format for India.

Since this confirms that Rana will not make his debut for India until October 31, it gives Kolkata Knight Riders the opportunity to retain him as an uncapped player ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2025. An uncapped player can be retained for just Rs 4 crore.

Rana played a crucial role for KKR as they won the IPL title for the third time in 2024. He took 19 wickets, finishing in the top five in terms of wickets.
