Kansas City Chiefs won with a score of 23-14 over Houston Texans on Saturday, reaching the AFC Championship Game for the seventh straight season.
Patrick Mahomes paved the way for Kansas City, tight end threw for 177 yards and a touchdown Travis Kelsey as its main goal.
The game was defined by solid defensive play from the Chiefs, who sacked the Texans’ quarterback. C.J. Stroud eight times. According to PFF’s first look, Stroud threw for 245 yards but faced pressure on 19 of his 41 dropbacks.
Special teams have also proven to be costly for Houstonlike a kicker Fairbairn Hunter missed a 55-yard field goal and an extra point. With just under two minutes remaining, the Texans’ hopes of a comeback were dashed when another field goal attempt was blocked, giving the Chiefs the win and continued postseason dominance.

The true sign of greatness rises when it matters most, and that’s exactly what makes the Chiefs a tight end. Travis Kelsey did today. IN Kansas In City’s biggest game of the season to date, Kelce had his best performance of 2024, earning his best single-game grade since Week 14 last year, according to PFF’s initial review.
Kelce was nearly unstoppable, catching seven of eight targets for a game-high 117 yards, a touchdown and four first downs. He showed off his signature catching ability, gaining 59 receiving yards and two punts. Three of his catches added 15 or more yards.
The veteran tight end averaged 4.33 yards per carry—the highest in the competition—and passes thrown his way produced a perfect passer rating of 158.3. As the lights shine brighter, Kelce continues to prove that he is one of the best in the NFL.
