Just days after being acquired by Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, KL Rahul already seems to be on good terms with the team management. DC co-owner Parth Jindal said after the auction that he intends to treat KL Rahul with the “love and respect he deserves” and added that he and Rahul will be together. He also mentioned visiting a match for Soccer Bangalore FC, another team owned by Jindal. Now, Rahul has posted a hilarious post on his Instagram with a clip of him juggling a cricket ball and asking Jindal if he also has a spot in Bangalore FC.

“Is there any space in Bangalore FC?” posted Rahul on his Instagram story. It is important to note that Mr. Rahul is also from Bangalore.

KL Rahul’s IPL journey has seen him represent four different franchises – Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Despite his stellar performances, the IPL title remains elusive. His move to Delhi Capitals signals a mutual pursuit of the coveted trophy, with both player and team looking to end their title drought.

Rahul is a versatile talent as both a batsman and a wicketkeeper and has established himself as one of the most valuable players in the league. Having started his IPL career in the middle order, he quickly moved into an opening role and consistently topped the run charts. From 2018 to 2022, Rahul scored over 590 runs in every season, highlighting his reliability and prowess at the crease.

In 2018, Rahul wowed fans with his incredible 14-ball fifty against Delhi Daredevils, setting the then record for fastest half-century in the tournament.

In 2020, he racked up an incredible 670 runs, scoring the most points in a season and winning the Orange Cap.

Rahul’s leadership journey began with Punjab Kings in the 2020-21 season, where he assumed the role of captain for the first time and showed strategic acumen.

After joining LSG, he led the team to the playoffs in his debut season and repeated the feat the following year. However, due to a thigh injury, he played only nine matches in IPL 2023.

Delhi Capitals’ acquisition of Rahul is both a strategic move and a bold statement of intent. With his consistent scoring ability and proven leadership, he is expected to play a pivotal role in the Capitals’ quest to win their first IPL title. As the new season approaches, both KL Rahul and Delhi Capitals will be looking to make their partnership a success and ultimately win the IPL trophy.
