Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) smashed Indian wicketkeeper-batsman rishabh pants At the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction held on Sunday. LSG spent Rs 270 crore for Pant, making it the highest-paid acquisition in IPL history and surpassing the Rs 26.75 crore bid made by PBKS earlier in the day. Pant is likely to replace his Indian teammate KL Rahul He took over the helm of LSG, with the latter parting ways with the franchise after a three-year partnership. LSG did not keep Rahul with the team as they missed out on the playoffs last season.
After the franchise lost the match against SRH, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen having an animated conversation with Rahul. Goenka was not happy with his team’s performance in the match as SRH posted 166 in just 9.4 overs.
After the IPL auction, a meme went viral in which Rahul appeared to be telling Pant that Goenka could be a tough (toxic) boss.
“Deku bhai, company achi hai, pay achar hai, par boss bahot toxic hai (Look, brother, the company is good and has a good reputation, but the boss is very toxic).” the meme said.
During interaction times nowGoenka said he didn’t come across the meme, but acknowledged that LSG owners can be tough bosses when needed.
