Cricket Australia (CA) said Thursday that Stonis will continue to have a choice with the T20IS, adding that his decision to retire from the 50-over format would be to focus on T20 cricket. Stoinis’ retirement from ODIS means that the CA will replace him with another player on the Australian team for the ICC champion trophy.

“Playing ODI cricket in Australia was an incredible journey, and I am grateful for every moment I had in green and gold.

“This wasn’t an easy decision, but I think it’s the right time to move away from ODI and focus completely on the next chapter of your career. I have a great relationship with Ron.Andrew McDonald) And I am very grateful for his support. We support the boys in Pakistan,” Stonis said in a CA statement.
