Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is officially on. Heavyweight boxers successfully weigh in Thursday ahead of Friday’s blockbuster Netflix fight. The fighters were weighed in on Thursday morning but the official results were not released until the official weigh-in ceremony in the evening.
While there was no concern about people making weight due to this heavyweight clash, there was a natural curiosity where Paul, who has never fought at heavyweight, and Tyson, who is 58, would tip the scales. Paul came in at 227.2 pounds. Tyson tipped the scales only slightly heavier at 228.4 pounds.
As Paul slides to the floor towards Tyson for a look, Tyson throws a slap with his right hand that lands on the side of Paul’s head.
“The negotiations are over,” Tyson said shortly after the incident.
“I didn’t even feel it,” Paul said. “He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, that was a nice little slap. I’m blowing him off. It’s personal now.”
In Friday night’s other biggest fight, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will face off in a rematch of the biggest and best women’s boxing match of all time. Undisputed champion Taylor will have four junior welterweight world title fights on the line.
Serrano weighed in at 137.4 pounds and Taylor matched him exactly at 137.4 pounds. Check out the rest of the main card weights below.
