Mohammad Rizwan will replace Babar Azam as Pakistan captain. Vice captain is…



Wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan was on Sunday named captain of the Pakistan cricket team in white-ball cricket. Rizwan will replace star batter Babar Azam who resigned from the position after a disastrous performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Rizwan’s first assignment as Pakistan captain will be the three-match ODI series against Australia, which begins on November 4. Pakistan will open their tour of Australia with three one-day internationals in Melbourne. (4 November), Adelaide (8 November) and Perth (10 November). This will be followed by three Twenty20 international matches in Brisbane (November 14), Sydney (November 16) and Hobart (November 18). Salman Agha has been named vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team.

However, he was reassigned for a second time in March ahead of the T20I World Cup in the USA and West Indies, where Pakistan were again eliminated in the first round, increasing pressure on him to retire.
