look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | IT -10.5 | THIS IS -10 | THIS IS -10 |
General | 48.5 | 48.5 | 48 |
Spreading: After rising slightly to 10.5 on Monday morning, the spread is back to 10 as of Tuesday. It is unlikely to fall below the current rate.
General: The market is still split between 48 and 48.5, and so far there has been no movement beyond these two numbers.
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | DAL -2.5 | DAL-3 | DAL -3.5 |
General | 39 | 37.5 | 37 |
Spreading: On Monday morning, the spread briefly rose to 4 before returning to 3.5, where it currently sits across the board.
General: After initially rising to the forecast figure of 39, the release of a peak at the low level dropped the amount slightly below the opening level.
Miami Dolphins @ Green Bay Packers
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | GB -3.5 | GB -3 | GB -3 |
General | 47 | 47.5 | 47 |
Spreading: There has been some movement towards 3.5, with the market currently split between 3 and 3.5. Temperatures are expected to be well below freezing, reminiscent of the Dolphins’ struggles the last time they played in cold weather.
General: The total briefly increased to 48 before returning to the original forecast figure of 47.
Buy/Sell: I will buy shares below 47, expecting this number to fall further. The cold conditions should limit the explosiveness of both crimes.
Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | KS -12.5 | KS-13 | KS-12 |
General | 43.5 | 42 | 42.5 |
Spreading: The spread is slowly and steadily decreasing as market support for the Raiders grows. Aidan O’Connell set to start after Gardner Minshew was ruled out for the remainder of the season.
General: Following O’Connell’s news, the total increased slightly to 42.5 across the board.
Tennessee Titans @ Washington commanders
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | WAS -7 | WAS -6.5 | WAS -5.5 |
General | 44.5 | 44 | 44.5 |
Spreading: After three defeats in a row, the Commanders return to earth. Their first goal dropped below the touchdown forecast and continued to slide, now with 5.5 seconds across the board.
General: The total briefly dropped to 43 and then rose to 44.5.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Atlanta Falcons
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | LAC -1.5 | LAC -1.5 | LAC-2 |
General | 46.5 | 46 | 47.5 |
Spreading: Despite the tough situation and loss on Monday Night Football, the Chargers are a two-point favorite. There are a few 2.5 models available, but that number is unlikely to reach 3.
General: The total opened at 46 on Sunday night and was quickly moved up to 48. After the MNF it opened again at 47.5, but additional over support pushed a few books back to 48.
Situational factors: The Falcons have a clear situational advantage coming off the bye week, while the Chargers are traveling multiple time zones to get an early start after playing at MNF.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
Look Ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | CIN -1.5 | CIN -2.5 | CIN -2.5 |
General | 47 | 46.5 | 47 |
Spreading: After opening at 2.5 in several books, this line has been increased to 3. The Bengals must win this game to keep their playoff ambitions alive. However, these scenarios are often overpriced in the market.
General: A slight move towards the over increased the total by half a point from the first goal to 47.
Situational factors: The Bengals have a slight lead coming out of the bye, but that’s somewhat offset by the Steelers getting extra rest after playing Thursday Night Football.
Buy/Sell: As mentioned earlier, the must-win narrative appears to be boosting the Bengals’ numbers. I’ll happily take the Steelers at +3, which might be the best value we see all week.
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | NEW -6.5 | NEW -5 | NEW -5 |
General | 42.5 | 43.5 | 43.5 |
Spreading: After opening at level 5 we are starting to see some 4.5’s popping up. That’s not surprising given the Texans’ home-division loss last week despite a comeback Nico Collins.
General: The market price is 43.5, although a few 43s remain available. There wasn’t much movement beyond those two numbers.
Situational factors: Jacksonville comes into this matchup after a bye week, giving them a slight head start on rest.
Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | MIN -4 | MIN -3.5 | MIN -3.5 |
General | 47 | 45 |
Spreading: The spread remains stable at the opening level.
General: Some books initially opened the total at 47, but it was quickly lowered to 45. Now we see a few 44.5s appear on the board.
Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | IND -2.5 | IND -2.5 | IND -2.5 |
General | 43 | 42 | 42 |
Spreading: The market is currently split between 2.5 and 3. Expect to bring extra value to the team you like with the best of this key number.
General: There hasn’t been much movement, but some books have an overall rating of 42.5. The likelihood of further developments in this direction seems more likely.
Seattle Seahawks @ New York Jets
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | NYJ -1.5 | PC | SEA -1.5 |
General | 44.5 | 43 | 42 |
Spreading: We observed a change in the favorites from the forecast line. After opening at its peak, continued support for the Seahawks pushed the score to 2.5 in some places. Although there were speculations about Aaron Rodgers While on the bench, the Jets disputed those claims, so it’s unlikely they’ll impact the market.
General: Opinions are divided on this, with books suggesting between 41.5 and 42.5. The general consensus is that this overall trend is trending downward, with no significant resistance yet.
Situational factors: The Jets have a significant lead, pulling away and forcing the Seahawks to head to the East Coast for an early start.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | TB -6.5 | TB -5.5 | TB -5.5 |
General | 43.5 | 47 | 46.5 |
Spreading: The market is stabilizing at a consensus price of -5.5, although a few sixes are still available.
General: Movement was limited to the 46-47 range. Although it reached 47 a couple of times, the rate was constantly lowered. We’re probably approaching the finish line.
Los Angeles Rams @ New Orleans Saints
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | LA -2.5 | LA -2.5 | LA-3 |
General | 46.5 | 47.5 | 49 |
Spreading: The Rams’ moves pushed that line to 3. While it didn’t drop back to 2.5 on the books that made that move, the juice suggests some buyout from the Saints at 3. Only a few 2.5s remain on the market.
General: The top line had strong support this week, even after opening above the forecast line. Some 48s are still available.
Situational factors: The Saints enter this matchup after a bye week.
Buy/Sell: I’ll buy one of the remaining 2.5s on the market and fix it on Rams. Despite the Saints bye, I expect the Rams to take control early and maintain it throughout the game.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | BAL-3 | BAL-3 | BAL-3 |
General | 50 | 49.5 | 50.5 |
Spreading: At the beginning of the week, the line fluctuated between 2.5 and 3 and is unlikely to move beyond these values in either direction.
General: The total number has increased from the initial 49.5 to 50.5, with some books now showing 51.
San Francisco 49ers @ Buffalo Bills
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | BUF -3.5 | BUF-7 | BUF-7 |
General | 47.5 | 46.5 | 45 |
Spreading: Uncertainty all around Brock PurdyThe player’s status clearly counts despite the Niner QB quitting practice on Monday. Given the upcoming weather, I’m inclined to believe Purdy will miss another week. While some books tested the waters at level 6, most market leaders remained firmly at level 7.
General: The drop from 46.5 to 45 further confirms the likelihood that Purdy will miss this game.
Situational factors: Buffalo enters this matchup on a bye, and extreme weather conditions like snow and sub-zero temperatures are potential factors.
Buy/Sell: Contrary to popular belief, snow often benefits hitters and leads to better scores, as evidenced by last Thursday night’s football game. However, wind conditions here will be critical. If the winds prove manageable and the total continues to fall, with some impressive snow-covered pre-game footage coming out on Sunday, we could have an opportunity to weaken the market. I will update X if the “perfect storm” creates a buying window.
Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos
look ahead | opener | Current line
Spreading | -7 | -6 | -5.5 |
General | 40 | 40 | 42.5 |
Spreading: After opening a full point below the forecast line, this spread jumped between 5.5 and 6. At the moment, 5.5 is predominant, with some books even moving to 5.
General: There was a slight move towards the over initially and the release of the pick in the over increased the total to the current 42.5. However, in some books the figure is still 41.5.
