‘There are four of us…’: Rohit Sharma announces the birth of his second child ahead of the Perth Test against Australia



Team India captain Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajde announced the birth of their newborn baby on Saturday. Rohit took to Instagram to announce that the family of three has now become four, with a subtle reference to the beloved sitcom Friends, THE FAMILY, the one with four of us. He captioned his post “11/15/2024,” which includes the date of birth of his newborn child. Rohit and Ritika have a daughter, Samaira, born in 2018. Due to the birth of his second child, the Indian skipper did not travel with the team to Perth ahead of the Border Gavaskar series opener.

With less than a week left for the series to begin, it is still unclear whether Rohit will feature in the first Test against Australia.

Compatriot Roth K.L. Rahul and actress Athiya Shetty will also soon embark on their journey of parenthood. The couple recently took to their Instagram accounts and announced their pregnancy.

They left a note that said, “Our wonderful blessing is coming soon. 2025 (baby feet emoji).” The beautiful note also includes a picture of an evil eye.

The duo was included in India’s line-up for the series. The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia begins on November 22 with the first Test in Perth.

The second day-night Test will take place under the lights at Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10. Fans will then turn their attention to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test from December 14 to 18.

The traditional Boxing Day Test, scheduled from December 26 to 30 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, will be the penultimate edition of the series.

The fifth and final Test will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, promising an exciting climax to the highly anticipated series.
