New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell believes the Indian team was a bit shocked by the events in the first two Tests in Bangalore and Pune. It also meant that the visiting team won the Test series in India after 12 years. The Tom Latham-led New Zealand team, coming off a 2-0 series defeat in Sri Lanka, will now aim to win the series in the third Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai starting on Friday.

“They are a little shell-shocked. When we first arrived, I think they had a slogan on TV that said “five zero” for their home summer or something like that. I’m pretty sure they wrote us off when we arrived. after Sri Lanka.”

“But I think they’re pretty shocked at what we’ve achieved and the way we came out and competed and played really good cricket to beat these guys – one of the best teams in the world. I think they’re a little shocked by what happened,” Blundell told SEN radio.

After the Mumbai game, New Zealand will play three Test matches against England at home and Blundell said the team will begin the home summer full of happiness and pride after winning the Test series in India.

“You still have the World Test Championship on the line, that motivates us too. But it won’t be easy. India is likely to suffer from this. But regardless of the result, we can return home with a good result. big smile on our faces.”

“What we’ve achieved here is huge, probably one of the proudest moments of my career. We’re excited. We have the opportunity to beat them 3:0. But despite this, we are very pleased.” “
