In recent weeks, we have presented receivers with our “Split Percentage” to see who is creating space and making an impact in the outfield.
Here’s how the league’s pass catchers fared after 12 weeks of play.
What is the split percentage?
Separation percentage measures how often a receiver bypasses coverage to get open, rather than benefiting from a defense more focused on limiting yards after the catch or stopping them before a first down.
This metric is not limited to just target routes. Instead, it looks at all the routes the defense is taking to prevent the receiver from getting open.
